1- What is a DHCP and how does it work?- DHCP stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol that is simply a configuration tool for connecting the computers in a network by automatically assigning different IPs to different computers. It has become quite easy to manage an organization’s computer network with this modern tool.

 

2- What do you know about the Active Directory?-active directory is a type of service responsible for not only the management of the resources but also it stores the same by getting their identities. Moreover, it also enables those resources visible to those users or members that have been authorized in this regard. The active directory treats all of the persons, numbers, servers, devices, etc as the objects while all of these objects are assigned their individual characteristics in addition to the ACL.

 

3- State the main purpose served by the Stub Zone DNS! – It can be said to be a copy of the same zone that is responsible for the identification of the authoritative DNS servers as possessed by the same zone. Moreover, it has only those resources that are required. It is also responsible for the DNS namespaces resolutions as to their names.  There are some particular components of Stub zone and these are:

• The Internet Protocol (IP) of Master Server
• SOA
• NS

 

4- Do you think that a Windows Administrator should act with a critical mind?- Yes, of course as the windows administrator has to deal with many issues throughout the job and he or she should not wait for the wrong to be encountered rather he or she must be ready to resolve any problems anticipated. This can only be observed if the windows admin remains critical throughout the performance of his duties.

 

5- Could you please let us know if we can browse the internet without having a default gateway? – Of course, it is possible in the case you are using a public IP address that doesn’t require any specific gateway.

 

6- Please entail some of the Windows clients that can be used in a case where you are unable to use TCP/IP! – We have a few to go while they are required like AppleTalk, NWLINK, etc.

 

7- Do you know what binding order is? – This is a specific order used for the management of network protocols in order to facilitate the client to server communication.

 

8- Could you please differentiate between the forward and the reverse lookup as related to the DNS? – The first case deals with name to address and the second one goes opposite being address to name.

 

9- Describe any role of Ntdsutil.exe! – This file can be used to transfer the roles in an active directory. Moreover, switching is also possible with the same.
