Electrical Engineer Interview Questions and Answers
- Are you familiar with CMOS and its benefits? – Yes, CMOS stands for Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor. Some of its benefits include less power consumption while increasing the noise immunity at the same time. Moreover, you may also expect low amounts of heat wastage.
- Brief us about the phenomenon of Electromagnetic Induction and how it goes! – It is a process whereby the electromotive force is generated. This can be done by two ways. The first one goes by introducing a changing magnetic environment to a conductor whereas the second option deals with letting a conductor move in a field having magnetic effect.
- How does a solar cell work? – These are the cells that are manufactured using the silicon in different shapes from crystals to the thin film wafers. A solar sell performs the function of converting the energy of the sun through sunlight into the electric energy.
- What is the process or phenomenon called whereby a superconductor is used to extract out the magnetic field? – This phenomenon is called the Meissner Effect.
- How would you differentiate between Megawatt Electrical and Thermal Megawatt? – Both of the processes are related to the generation of Megawatt but in the former case the Megawatt generated is Electrical while it is thermal in the later case.
- Explain the functioning of Diode! The diodes are used where the energy is required to be flowed only in one direction.
- Did you ever come up with the product designing? I guess it is one of the mostly asked questions from an applicant. Let me tell you that it is something carried out just for the evaluation of the knowledge you have gone through while designing a product.
- What is the term used to denote the ratio between the apparent power and the working power? It is called the “power factor”.
- Why do you need to play a positive role while being in a team? – It is all about the play while you are carrying out your duties. You need be positive especially as the electric department is something that can play with the lives as well. So, you need be very positive as well as prompt towards others.
- What is the critical temperature for a particular material? – This is the temperature at which the material can be observed to be showing the superconductivity.
- Quote some examples of renewable energy! Biogas, wind energy, thermal energy, solar energy, etc.
